TWI is a dynamic program of hands-on learning and practice, teaching essential skills for supervisors, team leaders, and anyone who directs the work of others. It is an essential element of Lean programs & systems utilized around the world - such as in the Toyota Production System (TPS).
The program was born out of the need to rapidly train unskilled workers entering the production workforce, and was introduced in Japan during post-war rebuilding. It is still in widespread use across the country.
